18.45

唐隴西李虔觀。今居鄭州。至顯慶五年丁父憂。乃刺血寫金剛般若經及般若心經各一卷隨願往生經一卷。出外將入。即一浴身。後忽聞院中有異香非常郁烈。隣側並就觀之無不稱歎。中山郎餘令。曾過鄭州見彼親友。具陳說之。

Li Qianguan of Longxi in the Tang now resides in Zhengzhou. In the fifth year of the Xianqing reign era, mourning the death of his father, he pricked his blood to copy one scroll each of the Diamond Prajñā Sūtra and the Heart of Prajñā Sūtra, and one scroll of the Scripture on Rebirth According to Vow. Whenever he went out and was about to enter, he would bathe himself. Later, he suddenly smelled an extraordinary fragrance in the courtyard, remarkably intense. All the neighbors came to observe it, and none failed to praise and marvel at it. Lang Yuling of Zhongshan once passed through Zhengzhou, met with his relatives and friends, and recounted this in full.
