19.10

又薩遮尼乾經云。若謗聲聞辟支佛法及大乘法。毀呰留難者犯根本罪（令僧依大小乘經不拜君親是奉佛教今乃令禮反違佛教使拜跪俗人即不信佛語故犯根本罪也）。

The Satyaka-nirgrantha Sūtra also states: "If one slanders the teachings of the śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, or the Mahāyāna, reviling and obstructing them, one commits a root offense." (To instruct monks, in accordance with the Mahāyāna and Hīnayāna sūtras, not to bow to sovereigns and parents is to follow the Buddha's teaching; now forcing them to prostrate, contrary to the Buddha's teaching, and making them kneel before laypersons, constitutes disbelief in the Buddha's words, and therefore is a root offense.)
