依立世阿毘曇論云。大醎海外有山。名曰鐵圍。入水三百一十二由旬半。出水亦然。廣亦如是。周迴三十六億一萬三百五十由旬。從剡浮提南際取鐵圍山。三億六萬六百六十三由旬。從剡浮提中央取東弗于逮中央。三億六萬六百由旬。從剡浮提中央取西瞿耶尼中央。三億六萬六百由旬。從剡浮提北際取北欝單越北際。四億七萬七千五百由旬。從鐵圍山水際極西鐵圍山水際遙度。十二億二千八百二十五由旬鐵圍山水際周迴三十六億八千四百七十五由旬。從此須彌山頂至彼須彌山頂邊。十二億三千四百五十由旬。從此須彌山中央至彼須彌山中央。十二億八萬三千四百五十由旬。從此須彌山根至彼須彌山根。十二億三千十五由旬。如是義者佛世尊說（依長阿含經云。閻浮提。其地縱廣七千由旬。西瞿耶尼。其地縱廣八千由旬東弗于逮。其地縱廣九千由旬北欝單越。其地縱廣十千由旬）。

According to the Lokasthitābhidharma-śāstra: outside the Great Saline Ocean there is a mountain range named the Iron Ring. It enters the water by 312½ yojanas, projects out of the water by the same, and its width is likewise the same. Its circumference is 3,600,010,350 yojanas. Measuring from the southern extremity of Jambudvīpa to the Iron Ring Mountains is 300,060,663 yojanas. Measuring from the centre of Jambudvīpa to the centre of eastern Pūrvavideha is 300,060,600 yojanas. Measuring from the centre of Jambudvīpa to the centre of western Godānīya is 300,060,600 yojanas. Measuring from the northern extremity of Jambudvīpa to the northern extremity of northern Uttarakuru is 400,077,500 yojanas. Traversing from the water edge of the Iron Ring Mountains to the water edge of the westernmost Iron Ring Mountains across the distance is 1,200,002,825 yojanas. The circumference of the water edge of the Iron Ring Mountains is 3,600,008,475 yojanas. From the summit of this Mount Sumeru to the edge of the summit of that Mount Sumeru is 1,200,003,450 yojanas. From the centre of this Mount Sumeru to the centre of that Mount Sumeru is 1,200,083,450 yojanas. From the base of this Mount Sumeru to the base of that Mount Sumeru is 1,200,003,015 yojanas. Meanings such as these were spoken by the Buddha-Bhagavān (according to the Dīrgha-āgama: Jambudvīpa is 7,000 yojanas in length and breadth; western Godānīya is 8,000 yojanas in length and breadth; eastern Pūrvavideha is 9,000 yojanas in length and breadth; northern Uttarakuru is 10,000 yojanas in length and breadth).
