時寺中有諸沙彌。盡是羅漢。皆作是語。彼之檀越愚無智慧。不樂有德唯貪耆老。即說偈言。
At that time, there were novices in the monastery who were all arhats. They all said, 'That dānapati is foolish and lacks wisdom; he takes no delight in those with virtue, but covets only the aged.' Then they spoke a verse:
