21.82

又阿含口解十二因緣經云。有阿羅漢。以天眼徹視見女人墮地獄中者甚多。便問佛。何以故。佛言。用四因緣故。一由貪珍寶物衣被欲心多故。二由相嫉妬故。三由多口舌故。四由作姿態婬意多故。以是因緣故墮地獄多耳。

Furthermore, the *Āgama Commentary on the Twelve Causes and Conditions* says: "There was an arhat who, looking with clear penetration using the divine eye, saw that those falling into hell were mostly women. He then asked the Buddha, 'Why is this so?' The Buddha said: 'Because of four causes and conditions: first, because of intense lustful greed for precious jewels, clothing, and bedding; second, because of mutual jealousy; third, because of excessive gossip and malicious speech; fourth, because of putting on coquettish airs with intense lustful thoughts. It is due to these causes and conditions that many fall into hell.'"
