Zhao Xi of Huainan during the Song dynasty served as an aide in the office of the Guard Army in the twentieth year of the Yuanjia era. He was sick for a long time and worried that he would not survive. He constantly took refuge in the Buddha with utmost sincerity. In a dream at night, a man whose appearance was remarkably extraordinary, like a divine spirit, handed Xi a small wrapped object and a razor from atop the roof beam, saying, "Ingest this medicine and use this razor, and your illness will surely be healed." When Xi startled awake, he indeed found the razor and the medicine there. He immediately ingested the medicine, and his illness was eliminated. He renounced the household under the name Sengxiu, and died after passing the age of eighty.
