23.16

吾從無數劫　往來生死道
捨身復受身　不離胞胎法
計我所經歷　記一不說餘
純作白狗形　積骨億須彌
以利針地種　無不值我體
何況雜色狗　其數不可量
吾故攝其心　不貪道放逸

"From countless kalpas past, / I have come and gone along the paths of birth and death, / Casting off bodies and again receiving bodies, / Never departing from the conditions of the womb. / Calculating what I have passed through, / Recording but one and omitting the rest: / Merely taking the form of a white dog, / My bones have piled up to equal a hundred million Sumerus. / If one were to plant sharp needles into the ground, / Not one would fail to strike my body. / How much more so for dogs of mixed colours, / Whose number is beyond measure! / Therefore I collect my mind, / Coveting not the path of heedlessness."
