27.24

又五分律云。佛言。乃往過去有一黑蛇。蠚一犢子還入穴中。有一呪師以羖羊呪。呪令出穴。不能令出。呪師便於犢子前燃火呪之。化成火蜂。入蛇穴中燒蛇。蛇不堪痛。然後出穴。羖羊以角杪著呪師前。呪師語言。汝還舐毒不爾投此火中。黑蛇即說偈言。

Also, the Mahīśāsaka-vinaya says: The Buddha said: In the past, there was a black snake that bit a calf and retreated into its hole. A sorcerer, using a black goat spell, incanted to make it come out of the hole, but could not make it come out. The sorcerer then lit a fire before the calf and incanted over it, transforming it into fire bees that entered the snake's hole and burned the snake. Unable to bear the pain, the snake then came out of the hole. The black goat, with its horns, tossed it before the sorcerer. The sorcerer said to it, 'Lick back your venom; otherwise, throw yourself into this fire.' The black snake then spoke a verse:
