言終忽然不見。舉寺驚嗟咸歎神異。獻後入禪忽見一人來云。磬繩斷。何不早治。獻驚起往視垂將委地。申其手接得無折損。後不知所終。

When they finished speaking, they suddenly vanished. The entire temple was amazed and all marveled at the divine anomaly. Later, when Faxian entered dhyāna, he suddenly saw a man come and say, 'The cord of the chime is broken; why haven't you fixed it sooner?' Faxian arose in surprise, went to check, and found it was on the verge of falling to the floor. He stretched out his hands and caught it so that it was not damaged. Afterwards, his end was unknown.
