28.46

神異經曰。北方荒外有湖方千里。平滿無高下。有魚長七八尺。形狀如鱧而目赤晝在湖中夜化為人。刺之不入。煮之不死。以烏梅二七煮之即熟。食之可以愈邪病。

The Shenyi jing says: Outside the northern wastes there is a lake a thousand li square, flat and full without highs or lows. There is a fish seven to eight chi long, shaped like a snakehead fish and with red eyes. By day it is in the lake, and by night it transforms into a human. It cannot be pierced by stabbing, nor killed by boiling. If boiled with twice seven smoked plums, it is immediately cooked through; eating it can cure demonic afflictions.
