3.34

又立世阿毘曇論云。剡浮提眾生色身種種不同。東弗婆提。西瞿耶尼人。唯除黑色餘色同剡浮提人。北欝單越一切人民。悉皆白淨。四天王有四種色。有紺有赤有黃有白。一切欲界諸天色皆亦如是。云何諸天色有四種。如初受生時。若見紺華則紺色。餘皆如是。

The Lokasthitābhidharma-śāstra also states: The physical bodies of sentient beings in Jambudvīpa are diverse and not uniform. The people of Pūrvavideha in the east and Aparagodānīya in the west are the same in colours as the people of Jambudvīpa, except for the colour black. All the people of Uttarakuru in the north are white and pure. The Four Heavenly Kings have four colours: dark blue, red, yellow, and white. The colours of all the devas in the Kāmadhātu are also like this. Why do the devas have four colours? Just as when they first take birth, if they see a dark blue flower, they become dark blue, and so on for the rest.
