The Kaishan Temple of the Liang dynasty was the residence of Wei Ying, a man of Jingzhao. Ying died young. His wife, Lady Liang, remarried without conducting a funeral, taking Xiang Ziji of Henai as her husband. Although she had remarried, she still resided in Ying's residence. Ying heard of Lady Liang's remarriage and returned in broad daylight. Riding a horse and leading several men, he arrived in front of the courtyard and called out, "A-Liang, have you forgotten me?" Ziji was shocked and astonished; he drew his bow and shot him. [Ying] fell at the strike of the arrow and immediately transformed into a peachwood figure. The horse he rode also transformed into a rush-grass horse, and his several attendants all became bulrush figures. Lady Liang was terrified, and thereupon donated [the residence] to become a temple.
