34.35

又大集經云。譬如沙門自有頭髮生不知日長幾分。如是菩薩罪生不能自知。言我無罪者。

Also, the Mahāsaṃnipāta-sūtra says: For example, as a monk's own hair grows, he does not know how many fractions of an inch it lengthens by each day; just so, as a bodhisattva's transgressions arise, he cannot know them himself and says, "I am without transgression."
