34.73

又佛說滅十方冥經云。時有釋種童子。名面善悅。來白佛言。唯天中天。今我二親身不安和。橫為非人所見侵嬈。晝夜寤寐不得寧息。出入行步亦見逼惱。或遭非人妖蠱姦邪。無以防護。唯願世尊。告示以法。隨時救濟令無嬈害。佛告面善悅。當為汝說擁護之法。

Furthermore, the Sūtra on the Extinction of Darkness in the Ten Directions Spoken by the Buddha states: At that time, there was a youth of the Śākya clan named Miāoshanyue (Pleasing-Face). He came and addressed the Buddha, saying: 'O God of Gods! At present, my two parents are physically indisposed, and have been wrongfully molested and troubled by non-humans. Day and night, asleep or awake, they find no peace or rest; when going out and walking about, they are also distressed and harassed. Or they encounter the sorcery, bewitchment, and evil trickery of non-humans, with no means of protection. I only pray that the World-Honoured One will instruct us with a method, bringing timely rescue so that they suffer no harm or affliction.' The Buddha told Miaoshanyue: 'I shall explain the method of protection for you.'
