36.55

久厭無明樹　方欣柰苑華
始入香山路　仍逢火宅車
慈父屢引接　幼子背恩賒
雖寤危藤鼠　終悲在篋蛇
鹿苑禪林茂　鷲嶺動枝柯
定華發智果　乘空查度河
法雨時時落　香雲片片多
若為將羽化　來濟在塵羅

Long weary of the tree of ignorance, / Only now rejoicing in the flowers of the Jetavana; / Just entering the path to Mount Gandhamādana, / Yet encountering the carts of the burning house. / The compassionate father repeatedly leads and receives, / But the young child betrays his kindness and strays far. / Though awakened to the mice on the perilous vine, / Still sorrowing over the snakes within the basket. / In the Deer Park, the dhyāna grove is lush; / On Vulture Peak, the branches and boughs stir. / Flowers of samādhi put forth fruits of wisdom; / Riding the empty raft, one crosses the river. / The rain of Dharma falls timely; / Fragrant clouds drift in abundant wisps. / How to take to feathered flight, / To come and deliver those in the worldly snare?
