爾時比丘即持香華來奉世尊。敬過去佛故。即持供養塔。佛即說偈言。

At that time, the bhikṣus took incense and flowers to present to the World-Honoured One. Out of reverence for the past Buddha, he immediately took them to make offerings to the stūpa. The Buddha then spoke a gāthā:
