38.61

其佛頂骨用珍寶贖之。計直四千匹絹。遂依其數以綵練酬之。頂骨今現在內供養。即是螺髻束髮小頂骨。然大頂骨猶未至此。

The Buddha's uṣṇīṣa-bone was redeemed with rare treasures, valued at four thousand bolts of silk; thereupon, according to this amount, payment was made with patterned raw silk. The uṣṇīṣa-bone is currently kept within [the palace] for veneration, and it is the small uṣṇīṣa-bone of hair bound into a topknot. However, the large uṣṇīṣa-bone has not yet arrived here.
