The Records of the Western Regions states: 'The country of Jibin broadly venerates the Buddha-Dharma. Within its capital city is a monastery named the Han Monastery. Formerly, an envoy of the Han went there and thereupon erected a stupa. It was constructed of stone, one hundred feet high. Monks and laypeople revere it with an extraordinary piety. In the monastery there is the Buddha's uṣṇīṣa bone, and there is also the Buddha's hair, blue-green in color with spiral curls, adorned with the seven jewels and contained in a golden casket. To the northwest of the royal capital is the Royal Monastery. Inside the monastery is Śākyamuni Bodhisattva's milk tooth from his youth, one inch long. Next, to its southwest, is the Queen's Monastery. The monastery has a bronze stupa, one hundred feet high. Inside this stupa are śarīra bones. On each of the six fast days, it emits radiance at night, illuminating and encircling the dew-basin until daybreak.'
