38.91

又問。漢地塔寺古迹云何。答曰。今諸處塔寺多是古佛遺教基。育王表之福地不可輕也。今有名塔如常所聞。無名藏者隨處亦有。如河西甘州郭中寺塔。下有古佛舍利。及河州靈嚴寺佛殿下亦有舍利。

Again it was asked: "What of the ancient sites of stupas and temples in the land of Han?" The answer was: "Nowadays, the stupas and temples in various places are mostly the foundations of the bequeathed teachings of ancient Buddhas. King Aśoka marked them out as fields of merit, and they must not be taken lightly. At present, there are famous stupas, as is commonly heard, but unnamed concealed ones exist everywhere as well. For example, beneath the stupa of Guocheng Temple in Ganzhou, Hexi, there are relics of an ancient Buddha; likewise, beneath the Buddha hall of Lingyan Temple in Hezhou, there are also relics.
