4.38

爾時佛告梵王等言。汝等諦聽。我於世間天人仙中。一切知見最為殊勝。亦使諸曜辰攝護國土養育眾生。汝等宣告令彼得知如我所分國土眾生。各各隨分攝護養育。分國多少各屬二十八宿。

At that time, the Buddha said to King Brahmā and the others: 'Listen closely! Among the devas, humans, and ṛṣis of the world, my all-knowing vision is the most supreme; I also cause the astral luminaries to protect the realms and nurture sentient beings. You must proclaim this so that they may know the realms and sentient beings as I have allotted them, each protecting and nurturing according to its allotment. The number of realms allotted belongs respectively to the twenty-eight lunar mansions.'
