4.73

又大方等大集念佛三昧經云。一切大地六種震動。一動遍動等遍動。二震遍震等遍震。三涌遍涌等遍涌。四吼遍吼等遍吼。五起遍起等遍起。六覺遍覺等遍覺。是六各三合十八相。如是東涌西沒。西涌東沒。南涌北沒。北涌南沒。中涌邊沒。邊涌中沒。

Furthermore, the Mahāvaipulya Mahāsaṃnipāta Buddhānusmṛti Samādhi Sūtra says: 'The entire great earth shakes with six kinds of vibrations: first, shaking, everywhere shaking, and equally everywhere shaking; second, trembling, everywhere trembling, and equally everywhere trembling; third, welling up, everywhere welling up, and equally everywhere welling up; fourth, roaring, everywhere roaring, and equally everywhere roaring; fifth, rising, everywhere rising, and equally everywhere rising; sixth, surging, everywhere surging, and equally everywhere surging. These six each have three aspects, combining into eighteen signs. Thus, it wells up in the east and sinks in the west, wells up in the west and sinks in the east, wells up in the south and sinks in the north, wells up in the north and sinks in the south, wells up in the centre and sinks at the borders, and wells up at the borders and sinks in the centre.'
