晉咸康中。建安太守孟景。欲建剎立寺。於夕聞床頭鏘然。視得舍利三枚。因立寺剎。元嘉十六年六月。舍利放光通照上下。七夕乃止。一切咸見。

During the Xiankang era of the Jin, Meng Jing, the governor of Jian'an, wished to erect a mast and build a temple. In the evening he heard a clinking sound beside his bed; looking, he obtained three śarīra, and consequently erected the temple and mast. In the sixth month of the sixteenth year of Yuanjia, the śarīra radiated light completely illuminating above and below, stopping only after seven nights. Everyone saw it.
