40.32

宋元嘉九年。潯陽張須元家設八關齋。道俗數十人見像前華上似氷雪。視得舍利數十。便以水行之光焰相屬。後遂失之。數日開厨更視獲牙。奩中有白㲲裹舍利十枚。光焰屬天。諸處咸來請之。

In the ninth year of the Yuanjia era of the Song, the household of Zhang Xuyuan in Xunyang held an eight-precept fast. Several dozen clerics and laypeople saw what appeared to be ice and snow atop the flowers before the image. Looking closer, they obtained several dozen śarīra. They then carried them across water, and their flames of light connected continuously. Later, they were eventually lost. Several days later, opening the cabinet to look again, they found a tooth. Inside a cosmetic box, wrapped in white fine cotton (karpāsa), were ten śarīra, whose flames of light reached to the heavens. People from various places all came to request them.
