In the nineteenth year of the Yuanjia era of the Song, Xu Chun of Gaoping was reading a sutra, and during a meal he obtained two śarīra. He placed them in a jar. Looking at them later, they gradually increased to twenty. Later he entrusted them to Liu Fu, the magistrate of Guangling. Fu secretly opened it, and it was an empty jar. While Chun was in the capital, he suddenly obtained them by himself again. Later, when he regressed in faith, he lost them all. The manifestations of śarīra in response are very numerous among those who encounter them: all obtain them through reverence and lose them through disrespect.
