如百緣經云。佛在世時。王舍城中有一長者。財寶無量不可稱計。其婦生女尋即能語。家中自然百味飲食皆悉備有。時父母見其如是。謂是非人毘舍闍鬼。畏不敢近。時彼女子見其悑畏。合掌向母而說偈言。
As the *Avadānaśataka* says: When the Buddha was in the world, there was an elder in Rājagṛha whose wealth and treasures were boundless and beyond calculation. His wife gave birth to a daughter who was immediately able to speak. In their home, all kinds of foods and drinks of a hundred flavors were naturally provided. When the parents saw her like this, they thought she was a non-human or a piśāca ghost, and were terrified and dared not approach her.
