又告比丘。過去世時有迦夷國王。好喜布施給諸窮乏。時有梵志王甚愛重。未甞從王有所求乞。爾時彼王為說偈言。
He further addressed the monks: "In a past age there was a king of the realm of Kāśi who took joy in practicing dāna to succor all the impoverished. At that time, there was a brahmacārin whom the king greatly cherished and respected, who had never begged anything of the king. At that time, the king spoke a verse for him, saying:
