我矜一切苦　出家為利世
利世須學明　學明能斷惡
山遠糧粒難　作斯斷食計
非是求仙侶　幸勿相傳說

"I pity all suffering,
and left household life to benefit the world.
To benefit the world requires studying illumination;
studying illumination enables cutting off evil.
The mountains are distant and grain is hard to find,
so I made this plan of fasting.
It is not to seek companions in immortality;
please do not spread such tales among yourselves."
