47.61

爾時此象說斯偈已。即還迦尸國。從是以後二國和好。爾時迦尸國王者。今波斯匿王是。比提醯王者。今阿闍世王是。爾時白象者今我身是也。由我爾時孝養父母故。令多眾生亦孝養父母。爾時能使二國和好。今日亦好。

At that time, having spoken this verse, this elephant immediately returned to Kāśi. From then on, the two kingdoms were reconciled. The king of Kāśi at that time was none other than King Prasenajit today. The king of Videha was King Ajātaśatru today. The white elephant at that time was myself. Because I filially supported my parents back then, I caused many sentient beings to also filially support their parents. Just as I was able back then to cause the two countries to be reconciled, so today are they reconciled as well.
