49.73

君愛忠臣　父憐孝子　況佛大慈
拔苦樂彼　不荷其恩　害親存己
一墜幽塗　累劫終始

The sovereign cherishes a loyal minister; / The father loves a filial son. / How much more so the Buddha's great compassion, / Pulling [beings] from suffering and delighting them! / If one does not bear his kindness / But harms kin to preserve oneself, / Once fallen into the dark paths, / Through repeated kalpas, from beginning to end [they suffer].
