The Qishi jing also states: One thousand yojanas east of Mount Sumeru, beneath the great ocean, is the land and dwelling of the asura king Vemacitrin, eighty thousand yojanas in length and breadth. There are seven tiers of balustrades, seven tiers of nets of gold and silver bells, and on the outside are seven tiers of rows of tāla trees, all made of the seven precious substances, adorned and decorated beyond full description. In the midst of the great city, a palace is separately established, named Śamavatī. The palace city is ten thousand yojanas in length and breadth. Its seven tiers of city walls are made of the seven precious substances together, one hundred yojanas high and fifty yojanas thick, with gardens, ponds, flowers, fruits, and flocks of birds singing in harmony (explained in detail as in the sūtra, not recorded here in full). One thousand yojanas south of Mount Sumeru, beneath the great ocean, is the palace of the asura king Yodhadhīra, its area eighty thousand yojanas in length and breadth. One thousand yojanas west of Mount Sumeru, beneath the water of the great ocean, is the palace of the asura king Śambara, its area eighty thousand yojanas in length and breadth. One thousand yojanas north of Mount Sumeru, beneath the water of the great ocean, is the palace of the asura king Rāhula, its area eighty thousand yojanas in length and breadth (the dwelling places are exquisite, similar to the former). In the city of Śamavatī, where the king dwells, is the gathering place of the asura king Rāhula, also named Seven Heads; its area is eighty thousand yojanas in length and breadth. The walls and balustrades each have seven tiers, formed of the seven precious substances. On the four sides, to the left and right, are numerous minor asuras beyond description (completely as expounded in the sūtra).
