52.10

爾時世尊告長者父母宗親知識及諸大眾。汝等曾見有生不老病死不。諸人白佛言。未曾見也。佛復告諸大眾。汝等欲離生老病死憂悲苦惱者。莫復念是恩愛之縛。標心正見歸命三寶。所以者何。於諸世間無過佛者。能導盲冥愚癡之眾。佛所說法即是良藥。爾時世尊即說偈言。

At that time, the World-Honoured One addressed the elder's parents, clan members, acquaintances, and the great assembly: “Have you ever seen anyone born who does not experience old age, sickness, and death?” The people said to the Buddha: “We have never seen such a one.” The Buddha again addressed the great assembly: “If you wish to be free from birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, pain, and affliction, do not contemplate this bond of affection and love any longer. Fix your minds on right view and take refuge in the Three Jewels. Why is this? In all the worlds there is none superior to the Buddha, who can guide the blind and foolish multitudes. The Dharma spoken by the Buddha is itself excellent medicine.” At that time, the World-Honoured One spoke these verses:
