52.16

所生枝不絕　但用食貪欲
養怨益丘塜　愚人當汲汲
雖獄有鉤鍱　慧人不謂牢
愚見妻子飾　深著愛其牢
慧說愛為獄　深固難得出
是故當斷棄　不親欲能安

The branches produced do not cease, / purely driven by eating and greedy desires. / Nourishing enemies only adds to burial mounds; / the foolish toils restlessly. / Though prisons have fetters and chains, / the wise do not call them secure; / the foolish, seeing wife and child adorned, / cling deeply to them, loving their prison. / The wise say that craving is a prison, / deep and secure, difficult to escape. / Therefore one must sever and abandon it; / keeping desires at a distance brings peace.
