宋居士卞悅之。濟陰人也。作朝請居在潮溝。行年五十未有子息。婦為取妾。復積載不孕。將祈求繼嗣。千遍轉觀世音經。其數垂竟妾便有娠。遂生一男。元嘉十八年已五歲（右四驗出冥祥記）。

The Song lay practitioner Bian Yuezhi was a native of Jiyin. Serving as an Attendant at Court, he resided in Chaogou. When he reached the age of fifty, he had no sons. His wife took a concubine for him, but after several years she still did not conceive. Intending to pray for an heir, he recited the Avalokiteśvara Sūtra a thousand times. When the count was nearly complete, the concubine became pregnant, and subsequently gave birth to a boy. In the eighteenth year of the Yuanjia era, [the boy] was already five years old.
