愛網結心闇　貪癡背智明
雖蒙慧炬照　愚昧猶目盲
頑戇常不覺　慧種未開萌
自非慕高友　何得寤神英

The net of craving knots the mind in darkness; / Greed and delusion turn away from the light of wisdom. / Though bathed in the illumination of the torch of wisdom, / The foolish and benighted remain as if blind. / Stubborn and obtuse, they are perpetually unaware; / The sprouts of the seeds of wisdom have not yet opened. / Unless one looks up to noble friends, / How can one awaken one's spiritual brilliance?
