正邪乖明昧　善惡異相征
大慈降梵志　乘空各變誠
六千俱捨執　七眾各休禎
邪徒虛抗志　鍱腹浪求名
身子多才智　陵化照機庭
四辯無不可　六通奮英情
乘權摧異見　伏邪同幽明
自知螢光劣　徒諍太陽精

Orthodoxy and heterodoxy differ as light and dark; / Good and evil are distinguished by mutual contest.
Great Compassion subdued the brahmacārins; / Mounting the void, each manifested their sincerity.
Six thousand together abandoned their attachments; / The seven assemblies each attained auspicous omens.
Heterodox followers vainly resisted his resolve, / Plates strapped to their bellies, fruitlessly seeking fame.
Śāriputra possessed abundant skill and wisdom; / Transcending transformations, he illuminated the courtyard of aptitudes.
With the four unhindered eloquence nothing was impossible; / With the six superknowledges he roused his heroic spirit.
Availing himself of expedient means, he crushed divergent views; / Subduing heterodoxy, both the unseen and manifest [realms conformed].
Knowing that the firefly's light is inferior, / In vain do they vie with the brilliance of the sun.
