57.19

復有一鬼言。我常有七枚熱鐵丸。直入我口入腹五藏焦爛。出復還入。何因故受此罪。目連答言。汝前世時作沙彌行果苽子時。到自師所敬其師故偏心多與。實長七枚。

Another ghost said: 'Seven hot iron pellets constantly go straight into my mouth, entering my belly and scorching my five viscera; after exiting, they enter again. For what reason do I suffer this retribution?' Maudgalyāyana replied: 'In your past life, when you were a śrāmaṇera distributing melons and fruit, you went to your master, and out of respect for him, you were biased and gave him extra—in fact, seven more.'
