As the *Wudao jing* says, the bodily size of hungry ghosts at its largest is one yojana in length. The head is like a great mountain; the inside of the throat is like a needle; the hair is disheveled; the form is emaciated and lean; and they walk leaning on sticks. Those of this sort are extremely numerous. The smallest are like a sensible young child, or, as some say, three inches. The bodily sizes in between are fully expounded according to the sūtras and cannot be completely recorded.
