60.51

爾時佛告阿難。汝持此呪為他解說宣通流布。佛告阿難。聞此陀羅尼復倍甚難。若有人能受此呪。復倍為難。若有人能受持讀誦。能為他人宣通解說。彼人能知未來二十一世之事。此陀羅尼過去九十九億諸佛所說。若有人毀謗不信行者。彼人則為毀謗過去諸佛。若有人受持此呪。結戒守護作法。尚能令彼枯樹生枝柯華葉果子。何況有識眾生受持此呪而不差者。無是處耶。歸命一切諸佛。願我成就此呪。莎婆訶。

At that time, the Buddha said to Ānanda: "You must uphold this mantra, explaining and circulating it for others." The Buddha said to Ānanda: "Hearing this dhāraṇī is doubly difficult; if someone can receive this mantra, it is doubly difficult again. If someone can uphold, read, and recite it, and can circulate and explain it for others, that person will be able to know the events of twenty-one future lifetimes. This dhāraṇī was spoken by ninety-nine billion past buddhas. If someone slanders it and does not faithfully practice it, that person slanders the past buddhas. If someone upholds this mantra, keeping the precepts and performing the safeguarding ritual, it can even cause withered trees to grow branches, boughs, flowers, leaves, and fruits; how much more could it be impossible for sentient beings endowed with consciousness who uphold this mantra to be cured? There is no such possibility! I take refuge in all buddhas; may I accomplish this mantra: svāhā!"
