60.54

爾時世尊告阿難言。若有人受持此呪為他宣通。彼人得知二十八世之事。此陀羅尼過去殑伽河沙諸佛所說。若有人毀謗此呪。則是毀謗彼等諸佛。則為捨彼諸佛。一切諸天龍鬼神縣官劫賊諸毒蠱等。皆不能害。一切諸惡疾病亦不能害。唯除宿殃所造業報（略說功德廣說在經）。

At that time, the World-Honoured One told Ānanda: "If someone upholds this mantra and circulates it for others, that person will know the events of twenty-eight lifetimes. This dhāraṇī was spoken by buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Gaṅgā River. If someone slanders this mantra, that is equivalent to slandering those buddhas, and means abandoning those buddhas. All devas, nāgas, ghosts, spirits, magistrate officials, robbers, bandits, poisons, and gu-sorceries will be unable to harm them. All evil diseases will likewise be unable to harm them, with the sole exception of the karmic retribution wrought by past calamities."
