61.25

桓譚新論曰。方士董仲君。犯事繫獄。陽死目陷虫爛。故知幻術靡所不有。又能鼻吹口歌吐舌齖聳眉動目。荊州有鼻飲之蠻。南域有頭飛之夷。非為幻也。

Huan Tan's New Treatises states: "The fangshi Dong Zhongjun was imprisoned for an offense; he feigned death, his eyes sunken and rotten with maggots. Thus one knows there is nothing illusion arts cannot do. Furthermore, he could blow through his nose, sing with his mouth, thrust out his tongue, bare his teeth, raise his eyebrows, and move his eyes. In Jingzhou there are barbarians who drink through their noses, and in the southern regions there are barbarians whose heads fly off—these are not illusions."
