Pengzu was a grandee of the Yin period. Passing through the Xia down to the end of the Shang, he was said to be seven hundred years old. He regularly consumed cinnamon and mushrooms. In Liyang there was an immortal chamber of Pengzu. People of previous generations said that whenever prayers were made for wind and clouds, they were invariably answered. There were always two tigers on the left and right of the shrine; today, when sacrifices to him are completed, the tracks of two tigers appear on the ground. (The four items above are from the Soushen ji.)
