Knowing the destiny into which one is born, not forgetting what one grasps, understanding affairs and occupations:
[such a one] has come from the human realm.
Understanding all illusions and deceptions, and having ceased to do them;
evenhanded in what one does:
[such a one] has come from the human realm.
Words of good and evil
never being forgotten, not trusting in wickedness and deceit:
[such a one] has come from the human realm.
Covetous, lustful, stingy, and jealous, having an obstinate mind difficult to relinquish, yet fully understanding local customs:
[such a one] has come from the human realm.
Faithfully and willingly bestowing charity, understanding what is Dharma and what is not Dharma,
his mind not biased toward the other:
[such a one] has come from the human realm.
Not missing the proper seasons,
and likewise not indolent, revering the worthy and holy:
[such a one] has come from the human realm.
If he sees a śramaṇa
who upholds the precepts and has heard much, serving him with a humble mind:
[such a one] has come from the human realm.
Serving and attending to the Buddhas,
the True Dharma, and the Saṃgha, hearing the Dharma according with the occasion:
[such a one] has come from the human realm.
Hearing the Dharma, he can understand it;
hearing of evil, he does not commit it; swiftly returning to nirvāṇa:
[such a one] has come from the human realm.
These are the bodily marks of humans; their appearance is roughly stated.
