The mountains of the Two Hua were originally a single mountain. Facing the Yellow River, the river passed it and had to bend its course. A spirit split it with a raft to benefit the river’s flow. His handprints and footprints still remain there today. Therefore, in the “Western Capital Rhapsody” composed by Zhang Heng, what is referred to as “The Great Spirit, exerting immense strength, raised his high palm and left far-reaching footprints, thereby letting the river bend flow” is precisely this.
