65.42

如僧伽羅剎經云。時有菩薩在山。慈心端坐思惟不動。鳥孵頂上覺鳥在頂。懼卵墜落身不移搖。檢坐而行彼處不動。及鳥生翅。但未能飛。終不捨去。

As the Saṅgharakṣa-sūtra says: At that time there was a bodhisattva in the mountains who sat upright with a compassionate mind, contemplating without moving. A bird hatched its eggs on his crown. Realizing that the bird was on his crown and fearing that the eggs would fall, his body did not stir or shake. Restraining his sitting posture, he remained motionless in that place. Even when the bird fledged its wings, as long as it could not fly, he never abandoned it and went away.
