66.8

佛告諸比丘。汝等輪轉生死飲其母乳。多於殑伽河及四大海水。所以者何。汝等長夜。或生象中飲母乳無量數。或生駝馬牛驢諸禽獸類。飲其母乳數無量。汝等長夜棄於塚間。膿血流出亦復如是。或墮地獄畜生餓鬼。髓血流出亦復如是。

'The Buddha addressed the monks: "The mother's milk you have drunk while transmigrating through birth and death is more than the waters of the Ganges River and the four great oceans. Why is this? In your long night, you were born among elephants and drank an immeasurable amount of mother's milk; or you were born as camels, horses, oxen, donkeys, and various birds and beasts, and drank an immeasurable amount of their mother's milk. When you were cast away in burial grounds during your long night, the pus and blood that flowed out were also like this; or when you fell into the hells, animals, and hungry ghosts, the marrow and blood that flowed out were also like this."'
