宋高平金鄉張超。與同縣翟願不和。願以宋元嘉中為方與令。忽為人所殺。咸疑是超。超金鄉後除縣職。解官還家。入山栰林。翟兄子銅烏執弓持矢。并齎酒醴就山貺之。斟酌已畢。銅烏曰。明府昔害民叔。無緣同戴天日。引弓射之即死。銅烏其夜見超云。我不殺汝叔。枉見殘害。今已上訴。故來相報。引刀刺之。吐血而死。

Zhang Chao of Jinxiang in Gaoping under the Song had discord with Zhai Yuan, a man from the same county. During the Yuanjia era of the Song, when Yuan was serving as the magistrate of Fangyu, he was suddenly killed by someone, and everyone suspected Chao. Later, when Chao was dismissed from his county post in Jinxiang, he resigned his office and returned home, entering the mountains to raft timber. Zhai's nephew Tongwu, holding a bow and arrows, also brought wine and dried meat to the mountain to treat him. When the drinking was over, Tongwu said, 'You, former magistrate, killed my uncle in the past; we cannot share the same sky and sun!' Drawing his bow, he shot Chao, who died instantly. That night, Tongwu saw Chao saying, 'I did not kill your uncle; I was wrongfully harmed. I have now lodged an appeal above, and so have come to repay you.' Chao drew a knife and stabbed him; Tongwu vomited blood and died.
