非天乾沓和 非鬼羅剎種
三世得解脫 今我是人身
所可降伏魔 成於無上道
師名釋迦文 我名大目連
"I am not a deva or gandharva, / Nor of the breed of ghosts or rākṣasas; / Having attained liberation across the three times, / Now I have a human body. / He who was able to subdue Māra / And achieve the unsurpassed Path— / My teacher's name is Śākyamuni, / And my name is Mahāmaudgalyāyana."
