Zhi Facun of the Wei was originally a barbarian. Born and raised in Guangzhou, he was extraordinarily skilled in medicine and consequently became extremely wealthy. He possessed an eighty-foot wool rug embroidered with a hundred varieties of figures, splendid and radiant as the sun. He also had an eight-foot board bed of agarwood, which constantly emanated fragrance. Wang Tan became the Regional Inspector of Guangzhou; his eldest son, Shaozhi, repeatedly asked for these two items, but Facun refused to give them. Wang Tan, relying on Cunliang, had him executed and confiscated his family property. After his death, his form appeared in the commandery; whenever prisoners were about to be beaten, a drum beneath the tower sounded, seeming like a ghost crying out injustice. After a month had passed in this manner, Wang Tan fell ill, constantly seeing Facun standing watch over him, and died shortly after. When Shaozhi reached the capital, Yangdu, he also died. (These two verifications are from the Yuanhun zhi).
