8.18

此下並依增一阿含經云。七佛父母姓字經云。第一維衛佛。第二式棄佛。第三隨葉佛。此三佛同姓拘樓（長阿含經云。第一名毘婆尸佛。第二尸棄佛。第三毘舍婆佛）第四拘樓秦佛。第五拘那含牟尼佛。第六迦葉佛。此三佛同姓迦葉（長阿含經云。第四名拘樓孫佛。第五拘那含佛。第六同名迦葉佛）第七今我釋迦牟尼佛。姓瞿曇。

From here on, all is based on the *Ekottarikāgama* and the *Sūtra on the Clan Names and Personal Names of the Parents of the Seven Buddhas*. It says: The first was Vipaśyin Buddha, the second was Śikhin Buddha, and the third was Viśvabhū Buddha; these three buddhas shared the clan name of Kauṇḍinya. (The *Dīrghāgama* says: the first was named Vipaśyin Buddha, the second was Śikhin Buddha, and the third was Viśvabhū Buddha.) The fourth was Krakucchanda Buddha, the fifth was Kanakamuni Buddha, and the sixth was Kāśyapa Buddha; these three buddhas shared the clan name of Kāśyapa. (The *Dīrghāgama* says: the fourth was named Krakucchanda Buddha, the fifth was Kanakamuni Buddha, and the sixth was likewise named Kāśyapa Buddha.) The seventh is I myself today, Śākyamuni Buddha, of the Gautama clan.
