時牢度跋提聞是偈已身心歡喜。即持利劍刺胸出心。是時地神從地涌出白牢度跋提。唯願大仙。愍憐我等及山樹神。莫為一鬼捨於身命。牢度跋提告諸神言。

When Raudrabhadra heard this verse, his body and mind were filled with joy. He immediately took a sharp sword, stabbed his chest, and drew out his heart. At that moment, the earth deity welled up from the earth and said to Raudrabhadra, 'We only pray that the great seer will take pity on us and on the spirits of the mountains and trees; do not relinquish your life for the sake of a single ghost!' Raudrabhadra told the deities:
